STEEL MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION OF MAHARASHTRA

This year in 2022, we are entering in the 50th Year of useful service to the Steel Industry.

Our Association known as Steel Manufacturers Association of Maharashtra was formed in 1972 with Objective to promote the steel industry in Maharashtra to obtain the legitimate rights for steel Industry and makes all possible efforts to ensure smooth functioning of Steel industry in Maharashtra in particular and the country in general.

We are affiliated to All India Steel Rerollers Association (AISRA), New Delhi like any other Association, We are also trying to raise and voice the grievances of Steel Industry in Maharashtra to The various Authorities with the State as well as Central Government.

The Association also nominates its representative to advisory Committee grievance committees Form by the State departments.

Now, many of our members have integrated Steel plants with advanced technologies and produce good quality of steel. We also Thanks the Ministry of Steel for “New Steel Policy 2017”. We also thank the Ministry of steel who finally accepted our very long pending Demand to reorganize us as a quality producer of Steel like main producers and because of our relentless effort, that Ministry of Steel issued its order NO: 4 (13) 2016-SD (1) Dated 9th August 2016 Restricting the classification of Steel Producers, like integrated steel producers, Primary Producers, main Producers and secondary producers etc. Now all the producers of Steel as per Quality Control Order and BIS code will be classified only as Steel Producer.

Our Members manufactures various categories of steel such as Rounds, T.M.T. Bars, C.T.D Bars, Tor Steel Bars, Angles, Channels, Beams, Squares, Flats, Bailing Hoops, Gate channel, Window Sections, Octagons etc, In mild steel as well as special Steel.

Many of our members have received various Awards and medals also, such as:

Best Exporter Award from AISRA
Export Merit Award from Govt. of Maharashtra.
Udyog Patra Award from Govt. of India.
Udyog Rtna Award from Govt. of India.
Petroleum Conservation Award from Govt of India.
Priyadarshi Award from Govt. of India to Shri. Jagdishchandra Goel 2004.
Udyog Ratna Award from Govt of India to Shri. Ravinder Aggarwal 2006.

We have come a long way from beginning in 1972 to 2017, but still lot more is to be done for the Industry as well as for the State we have very proud history of past and it was due to our predecessors like Shri S.K. Mall, Shri R.P.Malhotra, Shri Aroon Kumar jain, Shri S.P.Sharma, Shri S.R. Bansal, Shri B.N Dargar and Shri Lalchand Goel, H.L Dargar who lead the Association and brought the same in lime light. We are having total numbers of members 178 including Small, medium and large manufacturing all type of Steel. Our Association is of open mind and having clause of Associate membership which covers all the Ancillary industries like Suppliers, end users, Service providers’ etc. connected

Steel manufacturing members. SMAM have a well designed and furnished office with Conference Room, Board Room and Guest Room in Central Mumbai. Our Association has a Chamber facility for our members to use the various Chambers for their business purposes and also having a staying facility at the office of Association.
